PANEL DISCUSSIONS I - Cooperation in green technologies, industry, sustainable development, science and research
Ecological innovations constitute a chance to give a major push to sustainable development accenting mitigation of production’s negative effects on the environment as well as to more effective and responsible use of natural resources. Moreover, eco-innovations also constitute a chance for enterprises: costs reduction, new growth opportunities, building a good name with the customers. This topic has been therefore gaining on importance for administrations of both China and CEEC with the aim to speed up implementation of such innovations, be it through supporting research, development and investments, or removing economical and legislative barriers and raising public awareness of the importance and purpose of eco-innovations. DISCUSSION TOPICS: 1. What is your notion of (eco-)innovations from the business perspective and what innovation examples do you see as important for your industry or enterprises in general? 2. What do you see as major obstacles to implementing new ideas in business? 3. What role should the government assume in supporting new ideas in business?

PANEL DISCUSSIONS II - E-commerce as a trading platform of 21st century
Global trade has been gaining momentum in the B2C as well as in the B2B area. Consumers in China and CEE mostly care about access to as wide scale of goods and services as possible for the best prices while the whole process be kept user-friendly. What retailers want is to scale their business. Whichever the case, e-commerce is the platform for both B2B and B2C; most of commercial transactions can be expected to go virtual. This will bring undisputable benefits for end consumers and producers. DISCUSSION TOPICS: 1. What is the role of clash between traditional retail and e-commerce? In which direction will it develop? 2. What is the key to success in China-CEEC e-commerce? 3. What are the main difference in e-commerce in China and CEEC??

PANEL DISCUSSIONS II - China as a tourism strategic source
Chinese tourists eager to explore beauties of CEEC regions are growing in number. Europe has become an interesting destination not only for Chinese tourists but also for travel agencies, airlines, hotels and other service providers from the tourism industry. Destinations are trying to adjust for the influx of Chinese customers. What are the demands of the Chinese clientele? Are European tourism service providers ready to meet these demands? What are current trends in today’s globalised world? And what is the role of the Internet? DISCUSSION TOPICS: 1. What are the key factors that make Chinese tourists eager to explore Europe? 2. Is the Czech Republic and Central and Eastern Europe an interesting tourist destination for Chinese tourists in comparison to traditional destinations in Western Europe, such as London, Paris or Rome? 3. How do cultural differences shape expectations of Asian clients and Chinese in particular? What is the role of the Internet and global information sharing?

How about logistics, transportation, information channels, procedures harmonisation or possible legislative simplifications? DISCUSSION TOPICS: 1. To what extent is the current infrastructure ready to meet possible challenges brought about by a steep growth in trade between China and the CEEC region? 2. What is the connectivity of local logistics and the “last mile”? 3. What are the possible ways in strengthening communication channels between China and the CEE region?

PANEL DISCUSSIONS III - Education and exchange of experience in culture and sport
What CEEC usually meet from Chinese culture is cuisine, documentary films about Chinese cultural heritage or tea. There is still quite a significant room for transfer of other symbols of Chinese culture, be it language, literature or calligraphy. On the other hand, transfer in the opposite direction has been spontaneously going on and there has been a huge demand for European cultural heritage, modern art and literature. The same applies for sport. “Our” summer and winter sports are becoming more and more popular in China. Football already is a phenomenon, which is followed by tennis, biathlon and recently ice hockey. DISCUSSION TOPICS: 1. How could cultural exchange and trade between China and CEEC be intensified? 2. Is it possible to effectively offer and sell audio-visual and literature works between China and CEEC? What are examples of success? 3. Can “European” sports become popular in China?
